DAY 02: PERTH CITY TOUR – SWAN VALLEY (BREAKFAST/ LUNCH/ DINNER)
After Breakfast proceed to visit Farm show at Caver Sham Wildlife Park, product tasting at Honey Palace & Chocolate Company.
Caver Sham Wildlife Park is a Watch sheep shearing, crack a stock whip, milk a cow, bottle feed a lamb, meet a stockman on horseback, swing a billy, watch sheep dogs mustering the sheep – all the excitement of a true blue Aussie farm. When they ask for volunteers, be sure to put your hand up – kiddies and grown-ups can get involved. Take as many photos as you like, with your own camera – no charge.
Then proceed to visit Kings Park Botanic Garden, Parliament house. Perth Town Hall. Bell Tower, on Barrack Street Jetty, St Georges Terrace / St Mary’s Cathedral.
Kings Park is a 4.06-square-kilometre (1,003-acre) park located on the western edge of the central business district in Perth, Western Australia. The park is a mixture of grassed parkland, botanical gardens and natural bushland on Mount Eliza with two-thirds of the grounds conserved as native bushland. With panoramic views of the Swan River and Darling Range, it is home to over 324 native plant varieties, 215 known indigenous fungi species and 80 bird species. It overlooks the city as well as Perth Water and Melville Water on the Swan River.It is the most popular visitor destination in Western Australia, being visited by over five million people each year. Besides tourist facilities Kings Park contains the State War Memorial, the Royal Kings Park Tennis club and a reservoir. The streets are tree lined with individual plaques dedicated by family members to Western Australian service men and women who died in World War I and World War II.The park is also rich in fauna (both native and imported) and during September of each year Kings Park hosts Australia’s largest wildflower show and exhibition – the Kings Park Festival.
Parliament House, Perth is located on Harvest Terrace in West Perth, Western Australia. It is the home of the Parliament of Western Australia, including the Legislative Council (upper house) and Legislative Assembly (lower house). The building exhibits elements of Greek Revival architecture.
The Perth Town Hall is situated on the corner of Hay and Barrack streets in Perth, it is the only town hall built by convicts in Australia.
The Swan Bells are a set of 18 bells hanging in a specially built 82.5 meters-high copper and glass campanile in Perth, Western Australia. The tower is commonly known as The Bell Tower or the Swan Bell Tower
Barrack Street Jetty is located on the edge of Perth Water on the Swan River in Perth. Historically, it has been a significant location on Perth Waterfront at the end of Barrack Street. he first jetty built on the site was known as King Cole’s Jetty and Cole’s Jetty, named after Henry Laroche Cole, the first chairman of the Perth City Council. Today six jetties exist.
St Mary’s Cathedral, Perth, officially the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Perth, and seat of its Archbishop, currently Timothy Costelloe.
08 St Georges Terrace or South32 Tower (formerly known as Bankwest Tower, the Bond Tower and the R&I Tower) is a 50-storey office tower in Perth, Western Australia. Completed in 1988, the building measures 214 meters (702 ft) to its roof and 247 meters (810 ft) to the tip of its communications antenna. It was the tallest building in Perth from its completion in 1988 until 1992 when it was overtaken in height by Central Park. As of 2012, it remains the third-tallest building in the city. The concrete tower has a distinctive profile, with a triangular plan.
